How many stones?

How many stones will it take to make every pet a rare? After collecting every wild pet that has a rare version.

I am assuming that all of the TGC stuff is an auto rare. Most of the pre-pet battle stuff was rare, but not all.

Maybe minus one stone for the minfernal...cause that would be crazy. Again I am assuming that most of us did not get a rare minfernal on the first go. I wont go back to Felwood anytime soon...and yha I stoned mine.

So after that, What needs a stone?

Almost all profession pets are uncommon (Archaeology pets and some Fishing pets are the exception).
Almost all vendor pets are uncommon (Darkmoon pets and some Guild pets are the exception).
Almost all quest reward pets are uncommon (Lashtail Hatchling and Panther Cub are notable exceptions).

Rare drop pets are generally rare, though the nest-based raptor hatchlings are uncommon.

As for the exact numbers, I'd have to actually sit down and parse a spreadsheet for that.
And since my dinner is getting cold, that will have to wait.

I counted them once, that will never happen again but it is over 100.

I believe the total is around 130 but that includes the nonbattle pets too that are not rare.

My spreadsheet says 119 unique pets learned at Uncommon. This is assuming your Red Cricket is rare and your Singing Cricket isn't, which I'm not entirely positive is accurate.
