I've done some research and my understanding is that the chain to defeat pet trainers starts with Varzok in Orgrimmar for Horde characters. I can't get him to give me the quest, though.

I'm a level 42 Blood Elf mage. I have 8-10 pets with levels varying from 6-10.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get started on the pet quests?

Have you done anything on the alliance side?
How many horde trainers have you defeated?
Don't feel too bad thinking you missed something - the pet battle quests are still incredibly buggy.
Submitting a ticket might be the only way to get your problem fixed (yes, waiting 2 days stinks, I know)

these quests are account quests, so try with another character
I had troubles getting these quests too, but ended up being to do so on different characters

Looks like I'll be opening a ticket with a GM then. Thanks for your help!
