aaaa noooo they have such a bad rep for being horrible to animals and stealing donations!
?? You do know that all the SPCAs are independent organizations? Our local shelter does not have a bad reputation nor does it deserve one.
Well, the SPCA in my area killed 3 horses while in their care...Horses they should not have seized in the first place (since there was food on the premises and all horses were on pasture/had food & water access). The owner even took the SPCA to court over the seizer of her animals and won. Unfortunately 3 good horses died in the process. I mean, who puts 2 yearling colts in with a 25+ year old gelding?!?! The colts jumped on the older horses back and shattered his spine! And the vet they had come in to do a physical on the horses filled a pregnant mares lungs with fluid while giving her wormer and both the mare & foal died as a result!
They're fine for small animals (cats/dogs/rabbits/etc) But as far as livestock goes...out where I am, they have no clue. I know that their hearts are in the right place, god bless for that, but sometimes... *cringe*....they should just leave well enough alone!
