I'm sitting at 580 pets, only 20 more to the 600 achieve. I still feel like I got a long way to go though, they get hard to come by at this point. I mean,sure if I had gold I could just grab them off the AH. But alas, I'm slowly pecking away at it.

Keep at it. Pet collecting is more of a marathon than a sprint =). You'll get there eventually.
