So I might be a little slow on doing this, but the stupid quest would make me SO MAD that I figured "Well ONE pet's not gonna bug me that much." WRONG. So I searched and searched to find a way to make this quest just easier, and found it!

All you have to do is flap your little wings to get over to a platform at about 33,50, and point yourself NORTH (not just your view, but whole body). Once you do that, go make yourself a sandwich, take a shower, walk the dog, w/e you wanna do and come back a little later and it'll be done The birds literally fly right into you when you stand like that. 9 more days and I'll have my other jouster

OR you could run a second character through the event in one go and get a second pet. You can actually have 3 of each jouster.

I'm guessing this has something to do with the "Joust" mini game in Hyjal?

Well, there's also getting the achievement, which you can't get from just running it once on an alt...
