I had to get to revered I think it was for the serpent hatchling and it was early 20s i doubt you'd need to get higher then 30s to get it

If anything, roll a DK on that realm if at all possible. It'll make it an easy grind and it'll also enable you to have a high level character on that realm which will make it a little easier to gather materials/gold/level a profession/pet battle/travel etc on that realm. This is, should you need anything else on that realm once the pet is obtained. Win/win situation!
