Siren now uses Solar Beam, never used to before.
Nytemarerulez wrote:For Thundering Pandaren Spirit I have not been able to find better, another combos I tried end it on 27 turns and up. I tested for 4 hrs on my friend account that never completed it (lucky him he can farm it for xps and level pets fast that way) and best was team I posted. Using the Panderan dragon
I should have a new team for Thundering Pandaren Spirit ready in 24 hours. Should be around 18 turns and much less RNG prone.

Making Dusty a Flying pet made this fight a lot less painful.

Whispering Pandaren Spirit
11 rounds
1: Nexus Whelpling [P/P] (1,2,2)
2: Carry pet
3: Chrominius [-] (1,1,2)

vs Dusty
- Tail Sweep > Arcane Storm > Mana Surge > Mana Surge - Dusty dies
vs Whispertail
- Mana Surge > Tail Sweep until Nexus Whelpling dies
- Switch to Carry pet > switch to Chrominius
- Bite until Whispertail dies
vs Pandaren Air Spirit
- Howl > Bite > Surge of Power

Note: Can take a few rounds longer if you get slept.

Edit: I'm not happy with this team so I'm working to improve it.

Obalis
11 rounds
1: Darkmoon Tonk [-] (1,2,2)
2: Carry pet
3: Nexus Whelpling [P/P] (1,2,2)

vs Pyth
- Minefield > Missile > Ion Canon - Pyth dies
vs Spring
- Recover > Recover > Missile - Darkmoon Tonk should die before getting the Missile off
- Switch to Carry pet > switch to Nexus Whelpling
- Arcane Storm > Mana Surge - Spring Dies
vs Clatter
- Mana Surge > Mana Surge - Clatter dies

Note: Can take a few rounds longer if you get slept.

Edit: I'm not happy with this team so I'm working to improve it.

Re. Blood Knight Antari

I tried the suggested team on Blood Knight Antari (Scouraged Whelpling, Carry Pet, Flayer Youngling), used the recommended spell rotation, and died numerous times (and used three bandages). I believe Blizzard must have changed something with the flayer youngling; unless you're using the speed hybrid. I'm using the P/P breed.

After using three bandages I changed to the following team:

1 - Scourged Whelpling (P/S)
2 - Emperor Crab (P/P)
3 - Flayer Youngling (P/P)

a) Here is how the fight went. I followed your spell rotation per recommendation (this is very solid). Arcanus dies, and I get a couple hits off on Jadefire with my Scourged before he dies.

b) When the Scourged Whelpling died I changed to emperor crab. Use "Whirlpool" (if needed), use "Surge", use Healing Wave if needed (but I didn't need to use it and saved it for Netherbite). Jadefire dies.

c) I continued using Emperor crab on Netherbite: Use "Whirlpool", use "Surge", use "Healing Wave" when up.

d) Netherbite dies, Emperor Crab still has a good health pool, and I didn't even get to pull out my Flayer Youngling. Plenty room for a carry pet.

Please try this team and rotation and see how it works.

I hope this is helpful.

Hey Jamesdevlin, the strategy for Antari does indeed use a breed 5 (S/S) Flayer, that's why you won't be able to beat it using the listed strategy, with the breed 4 (P/P) one. The advantage of 5 over 4 is that it has 325 speed, which means it will attack first, allowing Kick to interrupt a turn, and Blitz to hit three times.

Don't mean to sound like a jerk, but the breed numbers listed on the strategies (in the square brackets after the names) are pretty important to each strategy, some breeds just won't work for these tamers, and both your Scourged Whelpling and Flayer aren't what the strategy calls for. It's great that you found a way to beat him finally, but these strategies are there for the quickest way to beat the tamers with only two pets, allowing you to level one up.

I definitely like the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling for Sludgy on the Thundering Pandaren Earth Spirit now. It's a tiny bit RNG, but still works well. Just spam Breath and use Explode when HP is low enough.

Good suggestion! I'll try it out.

Looks like blizzard is messing around with miss/dodge again i dot a lot of pet battle everyday and im feeling something changed.. perhaps a steath change...u know blizzard.

Facing Thundering Spirit it looks like waywire isnt working as intended anymore .

I'm a bit skeptical of basing strats too heavily on Mana Surge; I've been burned by its miss chance too many times in the past ...

Sludgy was changed from Critter to Magic. So not only does Haywire not hit him as hard as it used to, the damage it does when supercharged is also getting capped and reduced by the Magic racial.

Avoided the forums until now because I was busy and wanted a chance to see then changes and form opinions and new teams on my own before being influenced by others. I didn't really spend enough time working on the tournament before finishing it for the week, so there's surely a lot of fine tuning and fidgeting left to come. Anyway, here's where I'm at on things.

PANDAREN TAMERS

Farmer Nishi - I was originally going to say that the change was irrelevant but then double checked and I see that I've use of a different action order than what the guide says. I also use an H/P Menagerie Custodian instead of the Tonk as it has more power, but that's less of an issue
vs Siren
- Attack with your Carry pet > switch to Eternal Strider
- Cleansing Rain > Pump1 > Pump2 > Pump1 > Water Jet
vs Toothbreaker
- Pump2 > Cleansing Rain > Pump1 > Water Jet
vs Brood of Mothran
- Pump2 > swap to mechanical
- Ion Canon

Flowing Pandaren Spirit
Now that Tiptoe is no longer a critter, the Vampiric Batling is actually a bad choice. I'm using a P/P Imperial Eagle Chick (Slicing Wind, Adrenaline Rush, Lift-off) and Pandaren Water Spirit (Water Jet, Whirlpool, Dive).

Thundering Pandaren Spirit
I've been going with a Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (Breath, Bombing Run, Explode) in place of the Sunreaver Micro-Sentry. Basic plan/goal is to Breath down Sludgy and then Explode as soon as I get to Darnak. Bombing Run is only used in the case where Darnak's health is low enough on his last turn that the application kill him (so, like 130 health or less); this was the case for me on of my test passes but is not to be expected.

Whispering Pandaren Spirit
Played around with this fight more than any other since the patch and I'm really liking a P/P Nether Faerie Dragon (Arcane Blast, Life Exchange, Moonfire) to pair with the usual Chrominius. IIRC, the standard kill will be 13 rounds. Simply open with Moonfire and then spam Arcane Blast. Dusty will die on round 4 which is before the second Moth Dust; don't worry about using up the Dragonkin racial killing Dusty, its worth it to kill him early.

Life Exchange is the ace in the hole that lets you handle bad RNG. If the opening dust puts you to sleep then Arcane Blast to pop the Cocoon and then Life Exchange > Moonfire > Arcane Blast spam. As a small consolation prize, I believe you should have the Dragonkin racial buff up for the opening attack against Whispertail. If you're slept 2 times in a row, well, any strat will struggle with that.

You also have the option, assuming you didn't go to sleep, of Life Exchanging on the first turn versus Whispertail. This may be necessary if you ate some crits or all 4 Moth Balls hit. From my testing, though, I usually didn't need to. You'll probably only need like 2 Arcane Blasts to get Whispertail low enough for Chrominius (with the change to the dragonkin racial) to be able to two shot him.

CELESTIAL TOURNAMENT

Little Tommy Newcomer
1: Enchanted/Festival/Lunar Lantern (Beam, Illuminate, Soul Ward)
2: Pet Bombling (Batter, Toxic Smoke, Explode)
3: Pet Bombling (Batter, Toxic Smoke, Explode)

Soul Ward > Illuminate > swap to Bomb
Batter (only if Failsafe hasn't triggered yet) > Explode > select other Bomb
Batter > Explode > select Lantern
Soul Ward if first bomb didn't Batter > Illuminate

Zao, Calflng of Niuzo
1: Enchanted/Festival/Lunar Lantern [-] (Illuminate)
2: H/H Netherspace Abyssal (Explode)
3: H/H Minfernal (Explode)
Illuminate > swap > Explode > Explode

Yu-la, Broodling of Yu'lon
1: Singing Sunflower (Solar Beam, -, Sunlight)
2: Pet Bombling (Explode)
3: Pet Bombling (Explode)
Sunlight > swap > pass > Explode > Explode > Solar Beam

Chi-Chi, Hatcling of Chi-Ji
1: Unborn Val'kyr (Shadow Slash, Doom, Unholy Ascension)
2: Pandaren Water Spirit (Water Jet, Whirlpool, Geyser)
3: Chrominius (Bite, Howl, Surge of Power)
Doom > Unholy Ascension > select Water Spirit
Geyser > Whirlpool > swap to Chrominius
Howl > Surge of Power
Val'kyr doesn't get Bonus round after Ascension anymore so has to cast Doom first which means it won't be buffed by Howl. Surge was overkill, but an attack after Howl was needed. Chrominius was almost killed before it could cast Howl. In the future I may try an H/H Worg Pup instead. It has a little more health, but may not be strong enough to finish the job.

Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen
Nothing clever here yet, I just threw some mechanicals at it. I don't consider this one anywhere close to optimized or finalized.
1: Tranquil Mechanical Yeti (Metal Fist, Lightning Storm, Ion Cannon)
2: S/S Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot (Batter, Toxic Gas, Sticky Grenade)
3: Menagerie Custodian (Zap, Shock and Awe, Ion Cannon)

I'm tired, so I'll post Cho, Sully and Ion strats some other time. I figure the Legendaries are most important since they never change - lock those down and you're free to use whatever pets remain for the opening rounds.

EDIT - Noticed during second week that Pet Bomblings were actually faster than Yu-la. Edited sequence to include a pass on turn 3 since Explode won't hurt him if he's still up in the air.

One Mana Surge miss is OK, it's when you get another negative RNG that you're in trouble. I am revising my strats for Whispering Pandaren Spirit and Obalis, because if you get slept/crit and you miss it can mean a loss. However, vs Whispering Pandaren Spirit, it is still faster (and less frustrating) than using Anubisath Idol, so I don't mind restarting once or twice.

I have had no losses yet vs Hyuna using the Nexus Whelpling.
