Wastewalker comp has not been working for me at all recently. Not sure why. Chrom would usually always die on the elemental, and raptor would die on the porcupine. Its not bad if my carry pet is 20+, but even then its been sketchy. Did something change on him recently? I feel like its not lucky related since I spent a good 30-40 minutes trying him with that comp, using about ~15 bandages if not more.

The shield on his last pet now procs every time Hunting Party hits, and he also seems to be doing more damage overall. There's a strategy mentioned on another thread which uses a Red Cricket and a Tranquil Mechanical Yeti which has been working for me.

You can also find the Red Cricket / Tranquil Mechanical Yeti strategy in this thread, back on page 10 where it was first introduced to the world. ;)

Its been updated for 5.4. The big thing I've noticed is that Pounder isn't putting up another Sandstorm before dying which would mean you can substitute in a different mechanical heavy hitter like a Darkmoon Tonk if you don't have a Tranquil Mechanical Yeti. There is no substitute for the Red Cricket though.

My strategy for the new Timeless Isle daily:

Little Tommy Newcomer
6 rounds
1: Tranquil Mechanical Yeti (1,1,2)
2: Darkmoon Tonk (1,1,2)
3: ???

vs Lil' Oondasta
- Call Lightning > Forced Pet Swap to Darkmoon Tonk
- Shock and Awe > Missile > Missile > Ion Cannon > Darkmoon Tonk Dies, Swap to Tranquil Mechanical Yeti
- Ion Cannon

I would like to create a reliable strategy that includes a carry pet, even if it needs at least 1000 health to survive, but I don't think it is possible.

Yep, the Sandstorm only lasts 5 rounds now. It used to protect the raptor when it swapped back in, but it's gone by that point so he takes more damage. Sandstorm used to prevent all that shield damage.

I created a team that can level a pet versus Wrathion reliably and fairly quickly (20-22 rounds or so)

1: H/P Stone Armadillo (Scratch, Shell Shield, Powerball)
2: carry pet
3: S/S Bonkers (Jab, Dodge, Tornado Punch)

The Armadillo's Shell Shield completely blocks all of the Blistering Cold. Being a Critter, Ice Tomb will do reduced damage (less than diseased bite) and won't stun. Scratch and Powerball are Critter type attacks and do extra damage against Cindy. Note: I don't have an H/P Stone Armadillo and have been using an H/H Armadillo Pup instead; probably any Armadillo will be okay.

Bonkers has Dodge and the S/S version has the speed to get full use out of it. Against Alex, use it the round after the heal to dodge Flamethrower and a Breath. Against Dah'da use it the turn Elementium Bolt would land.

So, you can get XP for the carry pet this way and you can keep restarting the tournament and run it over and over. However, the XP isn't that great. Doing the Pandaren tamers every day will remain a much better long term method of leveling your collection than burning yourself out rerunning the same tournament boss or two over and over.

I was wearing a hat, but not using a treat; the level jumps were 1, 7, 10, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and then at 22 I didn't even gain enough to hit 23. I think it would take like 15 kills to level a pet from 1 to max using the tournament underbosses.

A Lamb is now my choice as the best pet to open with against Wrathion:
Chew > Stampede > Soothe > Chew (or pass) > swap to next pet

Chew + Stampede kill Cindy for good on round 4. Soothe will put Alex to sleep at the end of round 6; Wrathion will respond by swapping to Dah'da. This is a good thing for two reasons. The first reason is that it gives you much more control over dealing with Elementium Bolt. Whatever your particular plan is (based on your pet collection), you'll have the proper pet out and ready to go with all cooldowns available. The second thing it does is give you more options for killing Alex by opening up stun combos. There are several humanoid pets (Monk, Peddlefeet, Kun-Lai Runt) which can do high damage to kill Alex, but which use stuns as part of a combo.

Normally, if you try to use a stun combo to kill Alex then Wrathion would swap to Dah'da, breaking the combo. And since your stun combo damage pet probably isn't equipped to counter Elementium Bolt, you now have to swap your pets. The Black Lamb putting Alex to sleep with Soothe takes care of that.

The Lamb I was using happened to be a P/B Black Lamb; I think other breeds should have no problem finishing off Cindy in the same number of rounds. My Lamb always died on turn 6 after casting the second Chew. Had it made it to round 7, I would have simply hard swapped to my next pet since Chew can hit from the back row. If you really wanted to you could swap your second pet in on round 6 instead, but you'll eat some damage that otherwise the Lamb would soak for you.

LVLing Tips and Tricks
=================================================================================
Tip 1: Get a Safari hat and make sure it is always equiped while lvling pets.
Tip 2: If you don't have any Lesser Pet Treats do the Beasts of Fable First to get 3 of em.
Tip 3: Always have Lesser Pet treat buff when lvling pets via the guides below
Tip 4: Get a xxx pet treat from the weekly pvp bag and use that when beginning to lvl pets one

of the days. Be sure you will not be interupted so as to not waiste it.
Tip 5: Hot key your flying mount to fly faster
Tip 6: Move your Battle Pet Bandages and Revive Battle pets into your bars somewhere to quickly

rez/heal your pets.
Tip 7: While lvling pets check what abilities your lvling pet has access to. You can use its

buffs or debuffs to help your team beat the other faster. Or you can do some strait up dmg.

=================================================================================
PET LEVELING FROM 1
=================================================================================
You want your pet to be at least lvl 5 before having it be a backup pet. So to do that quickly

I would recommend having your lvl 1 pet followed by 2 lvl 25 pets and head to Valley of the

Four Winds. Find "The Heartlands on your map (Middle north area) and from here find a Marsh

Fiddler to battle. They usually won't one shot your lvl 1 pet.. Here is my setup.

1: LVLING PET (x, x, x)=
2: Spawn of Onyxia [x] (1, 1, 1)
3: Onyxian Whelpling [x] (1, 1, 1)

From here just have your pet do 1 attack and then swap to your lvl 25's to kill the mobs. Your

pet should lvl to 5 or 6 ont he first battle and will be ready to start the pandarian lvling

section.

This is probably the quickest and easiest way of lvling your lvl 1 pet that is not out of the

way from your regular running around for pet battles.

=================================================================================
BEASTS OF FABLE
=================================================================================

Your basic lineup for the beasts of Fable pets with one exception are
1: Unborn Val'kyr [6] (1,2,2)
2: Pandaren Water Spirit [9] (1,2,2)
3: Chrominius [6] (1,1,2)
Exception boss:
1: Amber Moth [?] (2,1,2)
2: Bat [-] (1,2,1)
3: Chrominius [-] (1,1,2)
I have not found a team yet that can 2 man them for pet lvling. However these are good for

getting bags and the pet snacks that increase xp gained. The idea is to get all your big

attacks off in an order so they detonate at same time under howl and unholy ascension for

increased dmg to prevent them from healing themselves. If you get good enough you can instead

use your valks slash ability and then cast Unholy Ascension when you think your pet will die on

the following turn. If your ept does die on the following turn your pet will still be alive

after casting it due to being in its undead phase and can cast Curse of doom then as well which

will allow that ability to hit when Howl is up but its challenging to do as of 5.4) Be aware

all these fights have a bit of RNG in them. I recommend ahving the pet bandages for all fights

just in case.

Dos-Ryga
6 rounds
1: Unborn Val'kyr [6] (1,2,2)
2: Pandaren Water Spirit [9] (1,2,2)
3: Chrominius [6] (1,1,2)

Round 1: curse of Doom
Round 2: Unholy Ascension
Your Unborn Val'kyr dies
Switch to Pandaren water spirit
Round 3: Geyser
Round 4: Whirlpool
Round 5: Switch to Chrominius
Round 6: Howl
Round 7: Surge of Power if the enemy is still alive

Goat??
6 rounds
1: Unborn Val'kyr [6] (1,2,2)
2: Pandaren Water Spirit [9] (1,2,2)
3: Chrominius [6] (1,1,2)

Round 1: curse of Doom
Round 2: Unholy Ascension
Your Unborn Val'kyr dies
Switch to Pandaren water spirit
Round 3: Geyser
Round 4: Whirlpool
Round 5: Switch to Chrominius
Round 6: Howl
Round 7: Surge of Power if the enemy is still alive

Ti'un The wanderer - TownLong Steppes
6 rounds
1: Unborn Val'kyr [6] (1,2,2)
2: Pandaren Water Spirit [9] (1,2,2)
3: Chrominius [6] (1,1,2)

Round 1: curse of Doom
Round 2: Unholy Ascension
Your Unborn Val'kyr dies
Switch to Pandaren water spirit
Round 3: Geyser
Round 4: Whirlpool
Round 5: Switch to Chrominius
Round 6: Howl
Round 7: Surge of Power if the enemy is still alive
(This is a highly RNG fight. I recommend having lots of bandages for this as it depends a lot

on if he uses his high dmg ability or not. If he kills one of your pets early with it you prob

won't win.)

No-No - vale of Eternal Blossoms
6 rounds
1: Amber Moth [9] (2,1,2)
2: Bat [4] (1,2,1)
3: Chrominius [6] (1,1,2)

Round 1: Moth Dust
Round 2: Pass
Round 3: Pass
Round 4: pass
Round 5: cocoon strike
Round 6: Moth Dust
Round 7 Alpha Strike
Round 8 Alpha Strike
Round 9: Pass
Round 10: Pass
Round 11: Moth Dust

This is another RNG fight tho easier. Depending on RNG u can actually solo this one using your

moth. The basic idea is that if he builds a DAM to pass until he has attacked twice. He if

dives under ground with the dam up the dive itself wont count as an attack so that may be 3

turns to pas. If he dives with no dam up use cocoon strike. Otherwise alpha strike if moth dust

is not up. But if he builds a dam pass until he kills his own dam. If moth dies swap to bat and

reckless strike, bite, reckless strike till nono is dead.

Lucky Yi - Valley of the Four Winds
6 rounds
1: Unborn Val'kyr [6] (1,2,2)
2: Pandaren Water Spirit [9] (1,2,2)
3: Chrominius [6] (1,1,2)

Round 1: curse of Doom
Round 2: Unholy Ascension
Your Unborn Val'kyr dies
Switch to Pandaren water spirit
Round 3: Geyser
Round 4: Whirlpool
Round 5: Switch to Chrominius
Round 6: Howl
Round 7: Surge of Power if the enemy is still alive

Ka'wi the Gorger - The Jade Forest
6 rounds
1: Unborn Val'kyr [6] (1,2,2)
2: Pandaren Water Spirit [9] (1,2,2)
3: Chrominius [6] (1,1,2)

Round 2: Unholy Ascension
Your Unborn Val'kyr dies
Switch to Pandaren water spirit
Round 3: Geyser
Round 4: Whirlpool
Round 5: Switch to Chrominius
Round 6: Howl
Round 7: Surge of Power if the enemy is still alive
(This fights a bit RNG as he can prevent you from swapping your pets if he does you may want to

howl, and use bite then surge on final pet.)

Nitun - The Jade Forest
6 rounds
1: Unborn Val'kyr [6] (1,2,2)
2: Pandaren Water Spirit [9] (1,2,2)
3: Chrominius [6] (1,1,2)

Your Unborn Val'kyr dies
Switch to Pandaren water spirit
Round 3: Geyser
Round 4: Whirlpool
Round 5: Switch to Chrominius
Round 6: Howl
Round 7: Surge of Power if the enemy is still alive

Pandarian lvling guide
=================================================================================

Aki the Chosen
19 rounds
1: Spirit Crab [6] (1,2,1)
2: Carry pet
3: Amber Moth [9] (1,1,2)

vs Chirrup
- Shell Shield > Snap > Snap > Snap > Snap > Shell Shield > Snap > Snap
vs Stormlash
- Whirlpool
- Snap > Shell Shield > Snap > Snap
vs Whiskers
- Whirlpool > Snap > Snap
- Don't recast your Shell Shield from now on, the goal is to let your Spirit Crab die. In the

meantime, do as much damage as you can whithout killing Whiskers (skip turns if you have to)
- When your Crab dies, switch to Carry pet > switch to Amber Moth
- Moth Dust > Slicing Wind
- Cocoon Strike vs Dive
- Notes: With Whiskers mostly going first with Surge no matter if the Moth has superior speed,

Slicing Wind is the way to go here.

Thundering Pandaren Spirit
22-23 rounds fastest happen on 19

1: Elfin Rabbit [11] (1,2,1)
2: Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling [5] (1,2,1)
3: Carry pet

- Scratch > Burrow
- Scratch > Scratch > Scratch > Scratch > Burrow

- Breath > Breath > Thunderbolt > Explode
- bring in Elfin Rabbit
vs Darnak (he comes out as Sludy is dead)
- switch to Elfin Rabbit
> Scratch > Scratch > Dodge > Burrow
Swap to carry pet
Swap to Elfin Rabbit
- scratch > dodge > burrow > scratch
- Notes: Scratch every turn, unless Darnak has BOTH Stone Rush and Burrow off cooldown (then

cast Scratch > Dodge), or he ONLY has Stone Rush off cooldown (then cast Burrow). If you do it

right, your Elfin Rabbit will not sustain any damage from Darnak until the final round which

will kill your pet and his leaving only your carry alive to gain exp.

Courageous Yon

- Bite > Bite > Bite
vs Skimmer
- Reckless Strike > Bite > Reckless Strike > Bite > Reckless Strike

vs Pandaren Water Spirit
- Ancient Blessing (if below 50%)
- Emerald Bite > Emerald Bite > Proto Strike (When one turn left on geyser and whirlpool) >

Emerald Bite

- Notes: If you don't have a Vampiric Batling, a Bat [4] (1,2,1) should work just fine, as long

as you don't miss any strike. If you miss your first reckless strike I recomend to forfeight

battle and retry as you wont ahve taken dmg at that point.

- Notes: Decoy when there is 1-turn left on Headbutt's cooldown. Missile until Needleback has

618 HP or less > Explode

the end of the fight and will thus receive his xp.

^^^^^^^^
Rounds 15-16 HP Nether Faerie Dragon

1: Carry pet
2: Nether Faerie Dragon [PP?] (2,1,1)
3: Chrominius [-] (1,1,2)

Start with carry pet and attack, switch to Nether Faerie Dragon and use Evanescence, than

Moonfire Arcane Blast. Using [ability]Evanescence/[/ability] starts your pet off with no damage

thanks to you always going first if they are cocoon. Keep using Arcane Blast, make sure to

break cacoon with it. than finish off with Moonfire. Whsipertail comes in and eats a dragon

power Arcane Blast, keep using that until Nether Faerie Dragon is dead. Bring in Chrominius use

Bite should only take 2 at most. Air spirit comes in - use Howl - Surge of Power. I did it in

15 rounds but my Nether is a HP breed, so I thinking a PP one can speed it up even more.

Have to do some more testing and see if I can get a PP one and level it up

Dusty can be killed 3rd turn with a Howl + Arcane Explosive + SOP from CHrom but you most

likely die to whisptail pet as you start with him. Leave you do a death swap to carry pet, than

to next pet that have to take out both pet. Another chrom maybe to bite kill than Howl - SOP

but not sure

- Notes: your Carry pet doesn't need to participate, as he will be the only one left alive at

the end of the fight and will thus receive his xp. If you are stunned against Honky-Tonk's

Shock and Awe (will happen once every 4 fights), you may need to reload the fight. Even though

the Zeppelin has a super effective move against Fezwick (Missile), Mechanical Pandaren

Dragonling is still better here, because it is faster and will always play first.

Fastest Route
************************************************
Stone Cold Trixxy - Winterspring (66,65)
- After finishing Mount Hyjals final tamer in the Pandarian guide fly strait here.

Fly back to Mount hyjal and take portal back to main city
-fly to mage area and take portal to Blasted lands
-IF ally you can elect to not take portal to blasted lands and fly strait to Deadwind pass tho

portal would be faster tho more dangerous on a pvp realm.

Lydia Accoste - Deadwind Pass (40,77)
- Fly to Deadwind pass
