Re: v5.4.7 woes
I haven't had any issues since the patch, and I did Nishi several times yesterday with a few different pets for bloggy stuff (forfeiting right before the end, but frequent near-solos with both a Frog and a Strider). Depending on which pet(s) you use there might be rebalancing stuff on a per-pet basi...

Re: Celestial Tournament
You'll get those 2 fights at once every 3rd week, so you're right to plan ahead with a different strategy, though I might rethink your Blingtron strategy. I'm not sure how you're using it, but is there another elemental or pet with aquatic nukes that would work OK instead? Personally, I use a water ...

Re: Battle with that pet
This is where I make apologies for slacking & stuff. We're getting ready to move soon, so most of my time is spent either packing or packing right now, with occasional packing. My assigned pet, waaaaay forever ago, was the Pandaren Fire Spirit. I actually tried a tactic that was new to me in PVP: Ao...

Re: "Borrowing" Spineclaw Crab then give back?
You can trade pets with no loss of level or breed swap or anything like that. This is actually an easy way to knock out your Raiding With Leashes achieves. The main issue with trading like that is the risk of not getting the pet back, and somebody upthread already had the best response there, ha. Fo...

Re: Bandages
I think they'll put the leashes there, for sure, but it doesn't seem like a place for things that are consumed on use like the growing/shrinking biscuits. Personally, I have a stack on each toon I battle with and 4-5 stacks on my meta-banker, and then I vendor the rest. My bags are too packed with a...

Re: Bigger, Faster, Stronger. What pets to improve in WoD
To Liopleurodon: Are you aware that the Cogblade Raptor already comes in a speedy S/S variant? Um, let's rewind & pretend I said Clockwork Gnome with Blitz, which is (honest to god!) what I intended (see below). Though it will be interesting to see whether it's a better idea to farm up a specific b...

Re: Bigger, Faster, Stronger. What pets to improve in WoD
I'm just making, like, everything P/P. Specifically, I'm really curious about making my Scourged Whelpling P/P. Due to the 'only within that family' restriction, I'm not sure that's an option. I plan on making my Cogblade Raptor S/S too. I'd like P/S but being fast is fairly crucial to the Raptor's ...

Re: The Problem with Talking About the Pet Battle System
The disagreement comes from the fact that it's really not poor design, at least in my opinion. It's actually kind of similar to how the game as a whole was at launch. While, say, Hunters and Warlocks were both ranged damage dealers, but, eg, bringing extra Hunters to the Garr fight, which involved b...

Re: LF Pandaria Tamer Strategies
You can carry pets on all the Pandaren tamers, though Wastewalker Shu can get a bit dicey for lowbie pets if you don't kill his AOE quickly enough, and Yon is (as far as I've been able to tell) unreachable under level 90 unless you recruit somebody with a dual flyer. Ditto for the Spirit Tamers and ...

Re: Battle with that pet
I had a really good time with the Bucktooth Flapper, oddly enough, but I think it was largely a combo of luck (mainly in facing 'good' opponents) and strong backup. I paired him with one of my staples, the Scourged Whelp, both for heals from Plagued Blood and as a tank. The 3rd wheel was another I k...

I finally killed a death adder + val team today! It wasn't with a warbot but still! And I got my 10 wins achievies! If there was a way for me to 'like' this post instead of making a verbose declaration I would've done it, but instead I have to come in here and say 'omg yay good job! good for you! y...

Re: Dragonkin
[pet]Macabre Marionette[/pet] is the ultimate dragonkin killer. Macabre Maraca deals extra dmg against dragonkin and as an undead they take less dmg from dragonkin attacks. Depending on the dragonkin they might mix in elemental or flying attacks too but most of their primary attacks are still drago...

Re: OMG i suck at pvp pet battles HELP!!!!!!
You don't suck. You're just inexperienced, and coming up against people who have been doing this for over a year. Cut yourselves some slack! The best thing you can do to start winning, like somebody else said, is to just start queuing up. You'll learn what your opponents do, how they stack debuffs a...

Re: Help Me with the Celestial Tournament
Experimenting requires a full restart and going through it once is painful enough. The best thing I did in writing strats for the Tournament was to go on the PTR. There's a system there which gives you random level 25 pets as you're screwing around, so you can accumulate a whole lot of options outs...

Re: Battle with that pet
The streak of weirdness with this silly Gazelle team continues. Another 3 within a turn or two, lost by weird misses. RNG has a message for me, and it's that I need to stop trying to make Gazelles happen. It's not going to happen. I'm totally messing up this thread with confirmation bias. Oops! Lio,...

Re: Battle with that pet
Lio, since you posted last (and because I saw you disparage Nature's Ward recently), win a couple with a Gazelle Fawn (Nature's Ward not required) and let us know how it went! You are super mean and we're totes not friends for like 5 minutes. :P Tantrum aside, the first thing I had to do was rename...

Re: Battle with that pet
Funnily enough, I retired my bunny team a while back. My cluster tends to be really heavy on turtle teams, so when I get down to the bunny, it can't hit hard enough to get through the shields and heals. First I tried a combo with a Cogblade Raptor to buff the rabbit's damage and surprise surprise, t...

Re: Battle with that pet
This sounds like a fun challenge! Do you want it to be a chain thing (ie, the person below me assigns me something, then the person below them assigns them something, etc) or just you? In any case, because the Lunar Festival is just about over, I think it makes sense to put together a team featuring...

Re: Least Effective Pet Abilities
My replies were: ability - Nature's Ward (heals for ~100x5, ~500 total, swaps your pet to Elemental). Relatively useless in PVE, because in tamer battles you know what you're fighting and in wilds there *really* few times you'd need to make that swap. For PVP it could be useful, but for now, it's on...

Re: Why pet battles fail
To be completely frank, if your win rate is low, you need to try a different pet or combination of pets. The strategy you have in your pocket might be functional or work for somebody else, but it's clearly not working for you. And no, just because it's working for you doesn't mean it's broken or som...
