Re: An Awfully Big Adventure
On a side point not being in the beta how do we get an Elekk Plushie. Well I mean how hard is it for a tailor to get the pattern and make one? The currency to buy recipes is on a daily cooldown, and Plushie costs 5. So Plushies will appear on day 5 at the earliest. You can start making the currency...

Re: H/H Iron Starlette
It's rare for some reason, at least compared to other starlettes -- maybe 1 in 40 or 1 in 50 is HH. You can see AH stats for it here https://theunderminejournal.com/#illidan/battlepet/1387 Ofc there's roughly a zillion starlettes up on AH atm, and not everybody knows or cares about pet breeds, so it...

Re: 6.0.2 First impressions
Doesn't Bite still have the old 10% variance? I know they took it off the abilites they moved to the new system, but I thought they left it on the abilities they didn't? There wasn't any mention of these abilities when they changed Crush/Steam Vent/etc., so I assumed they were left unchanged. But a...

.having curse of doom > haunt > dive (which missed) > water jet > howl > surge took him out flat.... Try just Geyser, Whirlpool, swap, Howl, Surge of Power. Valk should be superfluous. Or try Valk/Summit Kid: Doom, Haunt, Chew, Stampede. The easiest approach for all the BoF is to queue up some dama...

Re: Tail Sweep change on beta
Are they doing the same to Alpha Strike? I assumed Arcane Slash was meant to be functionally distinct from Alpha Strike. But if they're going to apply this mechanic to Tail Sweep as well, then they should really give this treatment to all of the 'if first'/'if last' attacks. It's very stupid that Al...

Re: Cursed Birman and Widget the Departed thoughts
if somewhat strange that Prowl is not consumed. On the other hand, it would be strange if an opponent could clear off your Prowl by intentionally attacking into a reflective damage shield, and thereby avoid an even bigger Prowl hit next turn. That would be punishing you for using your own abilities.

Re: 6.0.2 First impressions
It does. Essentially you choose among 10% variance (normal distribution), 20 base dmg** 20% variance (bimodal distribution), 21 base dmg 30% variance (bimodal distribution), 22 base dmg **edit** this appears to be wrong -- it seems that Bite and other 100% accuracy abilities now have completely fixe...

Re: PetBattleTeams addon and tomorrow's launch
If you right click PBT's menu icon, there's a 'automatically save teams' option, 2nd from bottom.Jerebear wrote:In PBT I had to unlock a team, drag the new pet in, redo my abilities (they always seemed to reset on me when I dragged a new pet into the team), and the lock the team again.

Re: 6.0.2 First impressions
I however would like to know when Bite becomes better. ... 378*1+283*4=1510 ... If the opponent has <1400 health (and you only spam Tail Slap), Tail Slap performs similar or better in any situation. This is not quite true. What if the opponent has exactly 300 health? Tail Slap has a 50% chance to k...

Re: WoD and Pet battle mechanics?
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea and the concept of new pets, but I was hoping in more substantial additions to pet system. Yes, there's nothing fundamentally new. It's a missed opportunity imo. Also, although there are plenty of new pets, there are very few new abilities, which is what really d...

Re: PetBattleTeams addon and tomorrow's launch
Curiosity, but what function of PetBattleTeams did you find lacking in Rematch? Simplicity. PBT is seamless, it acts as an extension of your normal pet journal. You don't have to open a separate addon, you don't have to click 'save' all the time. Rematch has more features, but I'm happier to manage...

Re: Cursed Birman and Widget the Departed thoughts
Devour... well I just can't seem to play correctly with this(and similar abilities). They do pretty low damage but if they kill they heal for alot. But I'm sure it is only me, but I have a hard time timing it correctly. Devour is a 'win more' ability and is pretty bad against real opponents. You ne...

Re: Decoy buff or AoE bug?
Oh no this is a new change with 6.0 - AOE attacks used to be considered 3 attacks, now they are considered one and thus, are now perfectly and OP countered with Decoy. It's not all the AoEs, it's only Avalanche/Thunderbolt/Whirlwind/Arcane Storm and Cleave/Carpnado/Grave Destruction when we get tho...

Re: Decoy buff or AoE bug?
Yes. Avalanche/Thunderbolt/Whirlwind/Arcane Storm now use the 'split X dmg among opponents' mechanic, instead of 'deal X/3 dmg to each opponent'. This type of AoE now gets completely blocked by 1 charge of Decoy/Frost Barrier, presumably because these put a 'block' as a field effect (but it still wo...

Re: About Bronze Whelpling
Probably just badly coded. It's not quite the same as Alpha Strike. Alpha Strike does 15 dmg, then 10 more if faster. So there's no problem if you're same speed, it just does 15 dmg and stops. Arcane Slash has to decide whether you're faster or slower; if slower, do 14 dmg, if faster, do 25 dmg. It ...

Re: 6.0.2 First impressions
Not all 0.55 should get the *1.5 modifier, only 0.05. No? Oops! Yes, bit of a screw-up on my part: Crush, Crush, Crush, Crush = 4*((0.45*16) + (0.5*28) + (0.05*1.5*28)) = 93.2 Hawk Eye, Crush, Crush, Crush = 3*((0.2*28) + (0.8*1.5*28)) = 117.6 So it's actually not bad. And not sure if typo or not b...

Re: 6.0.2 First impressions
Hawk Eye looks quite strong, as a crit will always roll high. A P/P Quiraji Guardling should be able to push a beastly Crush with that. Crush, Crush, Crush, Crush = 4*(0.45*16 + 0.55*1.5*28) = 121.2 dmg over 4 turns Hawk Eye, Crush, Crush, Crush = 3*(0.2*28 + 0.8*1.5*28) = 117.6 dmg over 4 turns *e...

Re: 6.0.2 First impressions
Reducing randomness will still be the best choice if you have a high win rate, like it was with the previous system. While choosing randomness will be the best choice if you have a low win rate. However, the matches will be more random... On a large timescale, it's actually less random. For example...
