Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3)
Was wondering if anyone else had playtested this team yet Unfortunately, I have bad luck and still don't have a rare Cogblade Raptor [5] (nor a Mechanical Battle Stone to upgrade a crappy one). I'll test this team as soon as I can 8-) . Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I've captured rare B/B and S/B ver...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3)
I've only tried it twice but I think Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling and Jade Crane Chick shows a lot of promise for Brok. The Crane Chick is great versus Incinderous; Thrash does extra damage and the shield blocks Swarm. Brok 15 rounds 1: Carry pet (should have 500 HP to survive) 2: Mechanical Panda...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3)
I think Whirlpool is best used at two specific points: the round before Chirrup dies (so that it lands on Stormlash) and the first round against Whiskers when he Dives and cannot otherwise be attacked. Against Chirrup, assuming no misses or crits, the timing has always worked for me if I go with: -...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3)
It is a fast and efficient team, but RNG can destroy it indeed. I think I will rework it. Its worked the three times I've tried it, but it was always a close thing and IIRC I've had to finish him off with the carry pet at least once. My Kneebiter is a P/P breed though, so Crusher has always died at...

Spawn of Onyxia [4] can be directly subbed for the Onyxian Whelpling.Phraide wrote:- New team for Flowing Pandaren Spirit (Same concept, same speed, but with Emerald Proto-Whelp instead of Onyxian Whelpling, who is no longer catchable ingame)

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3)
Aki the Chosen vs Chirrup - Shell Shield > Whirlpool > Snap - Chain cast Snap, unless there is 1-turn left on your Shell Shield (then recast it) Snap does 514 damage against Chirrup, Whirlpool only does 468 damage. I think it's better to not use Whirlpool against Chirrup and save the cooldown for S...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3)
Nice to see that some of my strats in the guide, though it looks like a couple have already been replaced heh. I often hit the Deepholm tamer for some extra pet xp on the way to Obalis since there are portals to take me there and bring me back. Here's a strat for him if anyone is interested. Bordin ...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
I have a tough time beating Obalis with your original team, but I mow thru it with Tonk (1,1,2) and Emerald Proto Whelp (2,2,2) Tonk two shots Pyth and the whelp has no trouble with the remaining two pets. Just swap in a l1 pet or whatever when the tonk dies. I recommend configuring the Tonk (1,2,2...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
I think what I'd really love to see stickied is a new thread where the first post, instead of being a guide, is a continuously updated and maintained compendium of links to posts containing strats. Ideally, for each strat there would be some collected data for average number of rounds to kill. This ...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm still having a lot of RNG with the Darkmoon Tamer. Going Infinite Whelpling / Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling or Fel Flame / Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling , I'm still running into extensive losing streaks. It was really frustrating today where it ended up tak...

Re: LF Help with Ji-Kun Hatchling team
I don't PvP so my advice may be naïve but the Hatchling has a nice built in combo with Acidic Goo and Flock. It seemed to do a lot of damage when I tried it in pve battles. Best way to complement I think might be with a pet that could put up Lightning Storm first. A pet that could set it up with som...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
The problem is TE vampiric batling isn't obtainable any more and I not think there is a comparable replacement for those without him. regarding this specific tamer strat: My Batling's undead passive has not yet been triggered in any of the kills I've made so far. Therefore, I think a regular Bat sh...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
My new favorite team for Seeker Zusshi is Snarly (112) and a " Bat "* (121). I usually get the kill around turn 13. What I really like about this team is that it doesn't suffer at all if Mollus kills the lead off pet with dive. When that happens, Snarly will have Ripped (strong vs critter) and Surge...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
I used to solo Nishi with a P/P Emperor Crab too, but I find that the strider strat is much faster. Maybe I just get tempted to heal more with the crab so it takes such a long time to die and give way to my carry pet. Your carry pet will take the same amount of damage from Siren's Sunlight on the f...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
An emperor crab totally destroys Nishi. I have a yellow moth as my back up for it, but rarely, if ever, use him. If I'm totally distracted and keep using the wrong abilities at the wrong time, then maybe, but RNG really needs to hate me. With Cabadath's strat, Nishi's last pet will most likely die ...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
I've posted a few times in this thread but I've been remiss in not offering my thanks for such an awesome guide. I'll blame it on the fact that I was missing many of the pets used and therefore assimilated the guide in bits and pieces over time. Here's some boss by boss feedback. FLAWLESS VICTORIES ...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
First, slight feedback on the Wastewalker Shu - the Spawn of Onyxia first pet only seems to work reliably if you have a P/P breed (4 or 14) - if you don't, your lift-off will always barely fail to kill Crusher unless you've been lucky enough to crit with either it or one of the tail slaps, meaning ...

Re: Obalis Pet Bug?
I've twice seen a similar bug against Courageous Yon. Both times Lapin died mid flurry from damage inflicted by my Untamed Hatchling's Spiked Shield. He literally fell over on to his side dead, then continued whirling around sideways as the remaining attacks occurred. I posted a report of it the bli...

Any notion of best is always going to be subjective, and I've also never pvp battled, but the S/S Grasslands Cottontail is an interesting specimen for his combination of stats:

power: 260
speed: 325

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
I've found that Untamed Hatchling is the perfect first pet versus Courageous Yon. You cast Spiked Skin and Healing Flame on the second and third turns of both Piqua and Lapin when they use Lift-off and Burrow; at all other times you just Tail Sweep (its okay if Spiked Skin falls off a turn or two). ...
