Well, as a person with the worst RNG luck in wow, I have fished half an hour to an hour a day since the carps launched, with nary a pet to show for it. So, I will be VERY happy with the change. I suspect that Blizzard figured out that the carps were not acting as effective "variable reinforceme...

Got so sick of useless fishing with no pet carps that I just could not even stand WoW for a couple of weeks. Went back to Second Life and put out my spring landscape. I think I will stay away from the carp grind for now..all it does is make me lose interest in Wow.

Hah! When my lamb got eaten by a wolf, I thought it was a bug in the program, lol. Glad to know it was a "special animation". I think I am going to rez that lamb and see what happens.

If you really want to addict your friend, remember to get him/her a Terrible Turnip! They are cheap on the AH now, and almost essential if you plan to capture pets in the wild. I like to have the TT on my second pet slot almost anytime I am hunting in the wild.

It is tradable. Good point! Assuming its tradable, even we non-raiding types might eventually be able to earn enough gold to buy it..and that gives raiders another way to make even more gold, and thereby gain even more reward. Of course, it would help us if Blizzard introduced a system such as Guil...

So, I now understand that open water will work for catching the pet carp? I will try that tonight..with fancy pole, hat and lures..and see what happens. Is there an area thats promising?

I think its a bad move, from a marketing perspective. Blizzard had made great strides toward engaging the non-hardcore raiding segment by offering alternative "advancement paths" through the side games of pet battles and farming. Yes, I know these activities are not "classic WoW"...

I still can't get even one of the carp pets, despite fishing on three level 88-90 alts every day for 100-200 casts each. I hate those carps..I think they must be a myth!

Oh well, still not even one of the carp. I keep trying, every day, with 200-300 casts per day. More than that, and I have no game time for anything else. Clearly, RNG loves some of you a lot, if you can get one in 93 casts, or even 700 casts! I see that some folks are using lures..does this help inc...

I tend to agree with Poofah: the grind for the carp is excessive. Yes, grinding is a collection job that some folks like. I actually enjoyed getting my Tol Barad fox, but I could do that with 20-100 kills/day and about 30 minutes a day, and it took me about a month. Plus, in Tol Barad I managed to g...

I suppose that I am just unlucky. Still fishing for 1-2 hours a day since 5.2 launched, and no luck. Must be at least 1000 casts by now, probably more.

I fish the crowded pools every day at 100 catches or so (which means more than 100 casts, obviously). Sometimes I do this with 2-3 alts. So far, no pet carp. With about 800 casts done, I guess I am a long way from RNG heaven (if someone really did 14,000 casts without luck). I am coming to the concl...

I have glanced at the "online" list when I look at these forums, and often see something called "MSN BOT" online (grayed out). Are there BOTS that are "members" of Warcraft pets? And why would a BOT want to browse the forums????

Been diligently fishing the crowded pools since 5.2 launched..3 toons, every day...so over 300 per day..and not a carp yet (except those common golden ones,hehehe). I need to spend at least some of my finite WoW time doing something besides fishing. This is about to drive me back to Guild Wars.

Does this mean the regular Darkmoon dailies, or do they mean some special set of pet dailies (to get the package that MIGHT have a pet)?

Is this capturable? And if so, does it stay elite?
