I think that you will never find a consensus for this particular topic. About all you will get is each person giving their favourite for each family, plus why it is their favourite. Often this will include "it works really well with X" with X being another two pets, or a particular trainer...

If you don't want to sell it and use it on one of your pets, I suggest using it on one of the harder pets to find. Three come to mind right away: Scourged Whelpling, Baby Ape, and Minifernal.
