From zoologist to poacher

I have found that in the last few weeks my pet collecting has transitioned from collecting to obtaining certain cage-able pets to sell, which is the most lucrative thing I can do for the time investment. I'm not sure if that was Blizzard’s design intent, but it feels like a transition from zoologist...

Re: Countdown to "Zookeeper" Title

Wouldn't telling a player when the pet will spawn constitute as a game hint? Hasn't anyone who has played this game with any significance learned that that is the #1 thing they will not give is game hints? ... No game hints? Definitely maybe, but it depends... Some people are reporting GMs are tell...

Re: Ouch, Beast's of Fable Reset...

I have not experienced that bug, but I have had situations where I partly completed the quest, then later in the day logged in and didn't get credit for beating additional bosses. "Log out, log in, defeat the boss" again "fixed" it, and I had only done a couple when I noticed (no...

Re: Tight-Fisted Stone Gods

I thought it was just my bad luck, but maybe drop rates have been nerfed hard. I used to average about a stone a day (sometimes a day or two with no stone, sometimes a couple in one day). But for about a week I have only gotten a couple of stones, and only in the Beasts of Fable bag. Not a single st...

Re: Countdown to "Zookeeper" Title

(Hopefully you will pardon my "rantishness", but I find this fog around the "last pet" annoying.) OK, I don't know what's up with Blizzard. This whole "seasons" debacle is a painful reminder to me of why I recently took a long break from WoW - no One Big problem, just ...

Re: Countdown to "Zookeeper" Title

I wish they would follow some sort of standard. Me too. This is definitely a Blizzard Dilbert moment. The Pointy-Haired Boss asks, "When does Summer begin?" Dilbert then pops open Google and types in "summer begins", which yields: The astronomical summer (Northern Hemisphere) 20...

Re: Countdown to "Zookeeper" Title

Winter Squid and Snowy Owl did not coincide with each other. Didn't Snowy Owl 's show up on 12/1/12? If that's the case then I'm guessing a 5/1/13 or even a 6/1/13 showing for the Qiraji Guardling No, I believe that Snowy Owl showed up Nov. 1. Some claimed it was a bug, but I don't know of a Blue p...

Re: 5.2: are we suckers?

It's just part of the never-ending WoW cycle. When you have been around WoW for a long time, you get used to it. The new release (5.0) is exciting and new, and builds a lot of goodwill towards Blizzard for a job well done. The first patch (5.1) builds on that. Players are still working on the new co...

Re: Countdown to "Zookeeper" Title

I'm still catching Winter Squid today instead of Summer Bass. A bug? Blizzard? Yep. I opened a ticket on the fish - average wait time 5 days, 19 hours. My take on the Qiriaji Guardling is, OPEN A TICKET! It is the only direct way to communicate to Blizzard. Enough QQ and we will at least get an answ...

Leveling a toon via Pet Battle with a Beast of Fable

I had a rogue at about 15 bars into 86 (in other words, 5 bars to go before 87), and I didn’t feel like questing, so I decided to try to power-level using one of the Beasts of Fable. 15,080,000 XP is required to go from level 86 to level 87 (So my rogue had around 3,770,000 XP left to 87) I chose Lu...

Re: Life Exchange and Legendaries

Someone on wowhead pointed out that using a pet with Sunlight (such as Singing Sunflower) increases the potency of Life Exchange.
[Edit]
Kun-Lai Runt - Rampage hits for ~650 per round on Critters.
Mech abilities Launch Rocket and Wind Up will do over 1000 on a Beast.

Re: Disappointed with Beasts of Fable

As I've reflected on Beasts of Fable, I have to agree from a design perspective that the idea is appallingly weak. The basic Pet Battle formula is to give one pet 3x life (and increase the size like you fed it with a pet snack). No new pet families, no new abilities, no new fight mechanics, no new s...

Re: Disappointed with Beasts of Fable

I think that for those of us who have been striving toward the 75-level-25 achievement (I'm currently at 32), the legendary Beasts of Fable are not going to be difficult. The enemies are of three types - Aquatic, Critter, and Beast - and appropriate teams will one-shot them. My teams (all level 25 a...
