If you use Undead pets, the life leech ability after he kills your pet doesn't work, so I used Ghostly skull, Stitched pup and I think Jade crane chick to beat him.

Wild pets below Dalaran in the Crystalsong forest are all critters, no exception, and are lvl 22-23 if memory serves.

Is it the stats that Pet Journal Enhanced lists? If so I think it's because these stats are predicted for a low level pet and could be inaccurate once it reaches 25 (not by a big margin but some people want to be sure)
