The Hyacinth has always been a Rare pet in terms of battle pet quality. It's just the item that you learn it from that was epic.

Breeds 3 and 13 are the truly "balanced" breed IDs. Unfortunately those are also the ones that have the fewest extra stats over all.

3 and 13 are inherently weaker than everything else.
