I've been collecting pets since Vanilla launch, where pets took up nearly all of my bank and bag space (I rejoiced the patch where we could "learn" pets).  The first pet I ever got was the Dark Whelpling, when levelling through Badlands on my main back at launch.

I never named a pet when playing Pokemon, and I've taken to that here as well, even though when I see a really clever pet name I laugh hysterically.  Pokemon was an addiction as a child, and still is as an adult, and this has bled through to WoW pets, and now that we can battle with them, oh man! :D

My goals are pretty much the same as many of you:  Get every pet and then make every pet as high quality and level it to max.  I'm a pretty patient guy, and pretty miserly, so I won't trade/buy stones, and it's working out pretty well.  I get 3 level 25's a day from trainers, and a stone on average nearly every day, so at this rate my goal should be complete sometime in April.  This sorta helps not getting burnt out and relaxes the system, 'cuz I think if I powered through and leveled/grinded stones it'd kill the fun.  Slow and steady is the motto for me!

In terms of pets I don't have yet, the two big ones are obviously Murky and Tyrael.  I don't know if I'll ever put the money down for them, but its a pipedream!
