I started playing WoW a week after my friends joined at release. But I didn't start collecting pets until Blizzard redid the pet summoning system. My then girlfriend cooed over each pet that came my way and the new system allowed a more expansive collection to accomodate her.
Even though all my toons get as much attention from my collecting efforts, each have a rationale on which pets get used. My dwarf paladin short and stout rides on the Traveler's Mammoth accompanied by either Peanut / Pint-Sized Pink Pachyderm. Meanwhile, my rogue rides atop a Winterspring Frostsaber / Silver Covenant Hippogryph accompanied by Snowshoe Rabbit / Lil Timmy's White Kitten.
