One of the best things about this pet is that anyone can get it despite their level. I actually went through the trouble of attaining it on a level 1 alt last year. It's certainly possible for anyone to quite easily get this pet.

I just the strangest thing happen on one of my alts.

I was leveling in Feralas with my Wind Rider Cub out. As I dismount to fight a mob, it suddenly flies off into the distance. It just kept going until it flew far enough to despawn itself. It wasn't laggy or anything, and the Wind Rider Cub circled upwards like a taxi Wind Rider does. It seemed to be flying towards Thousand Needles...
