I was very fortunate to find a rare one first off. I found it near the entrance to the Monastary and it was, at the time, the only one I could find. I agree with the person below me, the thumping sound it makes can be quite annoying. :( Edit: Also, I found that a nether ray did wonders on bringing him down quickly for the tame because the nether ray has a undead attack which is strong against him and the Kun-Lai's runt attacks are weak against the Nether Ray :)

Just got one on Moon Guard.  Very cute and was the only one that was up.  Found it in the very, very back of the cave by itself.
