PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - go to Zul'Mashar. I farmed carrion grubs and devourers for probably 3 hours. Went to Zul'Mashar and got three Mr. Grubbs within 10 minutes (hadn't realized BoP and was farming for more). Run back and forth over the graves in the middle and AoE them down - mobs there had great drop rates. These mobs also dropped greens, blues, and cloth - beats the vendor trash the grubs were dropping.

This pet is beautiful, as is Soo-holu. Hopefully we will see a different color/stone themed one on US servers one day.

If you are farming for this whelp, then you will probably notice that the area is called Itharius' Cave. Itharius himself is in the cave at the back of the farming circle. He is an elven npc in appearance, but is actually a member of the green dragonflight and brother to Eranikus. I suggest you talk to him, as it is pretty interesting what he has to say and clears up some confusion you may have concerning the events in Sunken Temple. More info on him can be found at wowwiki.com.

I do like that they used such a classic old school mount for the Argent Pony Bridle.

Also got my hinterlands drop from the oozes. It did take awhile though - I rotated between the oozes, owlbeasts, and Jintha'Alor. Skulk rock is conveniently near the robot's location.

I really don't see how this drop rate can be one in ten eggs. I have been hatching eggs almost religiously for a year and haven't seen a single proto-drake whelp yet. I finally just bought one.

On Azuremyst-US we have a channel titled "bookclub" dedicated to the achieve.

The flavor text on the pet item before you learn it is "Who knew he was so into books?"

Weirdly, I found my last book like ten minutes before a server restart. I think I had that happen another time as well. So, I think it is worth checking spawn locations before server restarts as well.

58.5, 8.3 - pretty far away from the most popular spawn points. This little guy also gave me my 75 pet achieve, woot!

Keep in mind that leveling fishing skill is based off of successful casts, not where/what you fish. So if you need to level your skill and want this pet, then you might as well go level it at his spawn points and best of luck!

Thottbott indicates there to only be 2.7% difference in the drop rate b/t heroic and reg at this time, so I think I will farm reg when I decide to go after this guy.

It is worthwhile creating a simple "/target Dalaran Spellscribe" macro. This enables you to see if he/she is there without entering the buildings.

Took awhile with farming the spellscribe; I probably got mine after 15ish kills. Don't give up if this is the method you choose, it will drop eventually.

I don't know why everyone hates on this little guy. He is more realistic looking than the other bears and is the perfect companion for a bear druid!
