If you're considering levelling a magic pet for the achievements relating to levelling a pet from every family -- don't pick this one. Even though it is rare, its abilities (particularly Mana Surge, which you're stuck with until the pet hits level 20) seem to have a terrible hit rating or something. I seem to miss 70+% of the time when battling with this pet.. overall kind of disappointing.

This guy dropped for me after quite a few hours of farming leather, and I just want to give a biiiiig big thanks to whoever it was on this site that encouraged people to farm for alternate reasons.. I made mine farming medium and heavy leather for the purpose of profit. It really made the grind a lot more bearable and I didn't even notice when this guy dropped -- so I emphasize this tip to all of you! Farm him for alternative reasons if you can.. especially if you've got a skinner.

Just keep solving artifacts... it helps that when you complete all the rares for a race, the chances of its sites popping are reduced... now that I'm done with nelf rares, tol'vir sites have been popping more frequently. Once I got like 6 digsites in a row, so it makes a big difference when farming for this pet... don't give up to all those who are still trying! Breaks are good of course, but you'll get it :)

I'm TWO away from this! It's so difficult... :( I have #150 reserved for 4.3 but #149... no idea what it's gonna be.. i'm kind of left with all the RNG pets. So far I've only seen 2-3 people on horde-side with this pet so I'm excited to get it. For sure i'll be the first in my guild so... I'm excited! :)

My RNG is typically very bad to me, so I was extremely surprised to get the kit after only 30-ish kills.. so I just want to say don't give up! I typically stayed around the edges of places and didn't venture into mob-laden areas... thankfully the foxes seem to frequent areas that are away from most mobs (with the exception of the spider zone).

I don't know why people seem to think the Sporeggar rep is harder to grind than this one... this one was brutal for me. At least you get 750 rep for the repeatable quest whereas with Skyguard you're lucky to get 500 for one return/kill. This guy's so worth it! :)
