Can also be found in Howling Fjord - both as a primary pet (in Halgrind, at least), and as a secondary pet throughout the whole zone. If you're looking for one to actually battle with, the Fjord's probably the best place to go.
Pretty decent pet. Heal on a short cooldown, and able to have 3 different offensive schools in its moveset (UD, beast and flying) make it pretty versatile. Has a high natural speed and Screech, meaning it should usually be going first.
In terms of the pet itself, it's pretty decent - humanoids are one of the rarer families, but the Hopling does them proud. Some strong offensive abilities, access to 3 different types, a pseudo-stun, a snare, and the awesome humanoid trait which effectively gives it a heal each turn (hint: works well with Backflip and Lash). Actually, the moveset is pretty darn awesome in that your options for the second and third abilities are all different.
A pretty good pet, with a strong heal, nice health pool and good damage output, as well as a stun. It's one of the first pets I worked hard with, and one of my first team to 25. Essentially, open the fight by Planting, throwing a Stun Seed (unless they are faster and have an evasion ability available), then proceed to use Burn.
With Hallow's End just around the corner, and knowing of the strength of this pet, I'm considering selling lv 25s on the AH whenever I get a new one.
Use an addon or macro to determine rarity, rather than HP values or stats - while it's theoretically possible to determine rarity based on those, if your guesstimate is slightly off you can find yourself capturing a pet needlessly, whereas addons and macros take the guesswork out of it.
It took me a few sessions of trying (I didn't farm the place in the traditional sense as they seemed to have a decently long respawn), but I eventually got a rare. Proving to be quite potent.
Can pretty much confirm it's not morning only. Have found two shortly after 3PM server time (12 local time), and while it's possible it means US morning, it's highly unlikely.
Having farmed this on and off for a few days, I tried my luck after weekly maintenance - and sure enough, the cave was swamped with the Oozelings. Furthermore, they respawned pretty quickly, so that I would've had up to about 20 shots at the rare - if it hadn't appeared on about the 15th. Huzzah!
