I also got mine in the lake in Niazao Fields in open water. Had fishing skill between 790 and 820 the whole time. Fished over 2,000-2,500 casts for this one in various places that were said to contain it.

Hope this helps someone!

Got the pet on my 3rd kill. Spawns were 36 mins, 48 mins, 55 mins from the time of the previous kill (not spawn).

If you can't loot, relog. I also heard running away til you can't target him and coming back works, or killing another creature and looting it works, but I did the relog method. Two of my 3 kills I had no loot, relogged, and it was there. One of those was the pet. So be sure to try this if you can't loot him.

Also got a key, stone, and tomes of valor. Hope this helps someone. GL all!

Caught in Vo4W from an Emperor Salmon school. Pandaren Fishing Caharm does work. I caught my Blue as a secondary to another fish. Hope this helps someone. GL!

Caught in Kun-Lai, off the coast in the northeast, Shrimp School. Also, Ancient Pandaren Fishing Charm does help. I caught my Blue as a secondary to another fish. Hope this helps someone. GL all!!

Caught in Townlong from the crowded Redbelly pools. So the Crowded pools do drop them. Also Ancient Pandaren Fishing Charm helps, as I caught mine as a secondary (or tertiary actually) to a regular fish. Hope this helps. GL all!

When farming for a rare Horned Lizard (which come in sets of 3 that are always the same quality, with the same friends/quality combo), you can mark one with a raid symbol. Then pet battle the other two. This ensures that the respawns will be battle pets and not just critters. They will be new quality, with new friends. So you can battle the two unmarked ones again, leaving the raid marked one up. Then repeat until you get your rare. Also note, when you get your rare the remaining unmarked one will also be rare, so you have one to offer a friend :) This also works with others that come in sets of three like the Gilded Moths in VoEB.

This was my favorite new Cata pet when I saw the list. I just think the model is pretty and very unique. Nice one Blizz.

Seems like they Emerald Whelpling'd this one. Only 16 foxes and a likely 0.1% drop rate. I know I'm a hard core collector because this actually excites me... Bring it on Bliz... bring it on.

I have about 50 Exalted reps on my 2 mains... but they don't count yet because we are not revered with the guild. I'm from a small guild and I think everyone is counting on me for this one :)

I can't wait he is a very awesome looking pet.

This pet is not like the Gruntling. He can not be resummoned after he "runs off" to the vendor for you. :(

But you can sell vendor trash to him for 5 minutes every eight hours (he shares a cooldown with the Page though, so no double dipping) /sigh.

This pet is not like the Gruntling. He can only be summoned for 5 mins every 8 hours. He cannot be resummoned after "running off" to the vendor. But you can sell things to him for the 5 minutes. So it's nice when farming to sell trash. :D

He does carry a really cool guild banner! Maybe blizz will fix it so we can have him out indefinately, but only use the vendor part for 5 minutes (/nudge nudge)!

I love his coloring. I usually don't like "re-skinned" pets, but I like this guy :)

My favorite part is the Mutagen. I think most pets still do their "tricks" with it on.

The Frostling still pelted with snowballs.

Re: Willy
There are three pets that I know of that attack critters: Willy here with his eye-beam, Scorchling (with a little fireball), and Lil' K.T. (with a frost tomb).

Hours of critter-nuking fun!!

Edit: Toxic Wasteling "eats" critters now.

Best part of this pet... nuking critters.

Also Scorchling and Willy attack critters if you were wondering. Scorchling with a little fireball... Willy uses an eye beam... and KT a frost tomb... fun times!

Edit: Toxic Wasteling now "eats" critter as well.

This is my favorite pet to get out when I have my two accounts out farming together. I wish I could scoop up all the cute little baby bunnies.

With this pet x2, Spring is most definitely in the air.

Edit: This pet now also mates with the Turkey and makes baby bunnies which hatch from eggs... I think in a wierd way that makes sence.

Re: Frosty
I really like the cute sounds that Frosty makes. Very unique and different from any other pet thus far.

This site is what prompted my Whelp collecting. I saw the "Got Whelp?" shirt, and thought, "Oh noes, I got no whelps." So I went to farm this red one, which I got pretty quickly the first night. So I thought, I better do a hard one next to not get too complacent. So I went to the Emerald prepared for a long grind (didn't drop from adolecents then). Got it the next night. The Dark took 2 days, but then I got the Azure the same night I got the Dark one. So 4 days: 4 whelps! Got Whelp? Yeppers!

I know everyone always goes crazy for the Emerald Whelp because he is the rarest of the four. The Azure is technically the most common, but I really think this one is the prettiest of the four farmed whelps. His color is the brightest. Maybe that's why he's in more people's collections: more people farm for him.

The droprate on this guy used to say 1:100, now it says 1:1000.

I got this guy within a few days of his release and killed about 90 raptors for him. I hear a lot of people complaining about his droprate now. Wonder why they changed it?

I like his red coloring. It makes him stand out from the other raptors.

This is the only pet that I didn't farm myself. My husband took pity on me sitting in Un'goro for hours, and nearly falling asleep at the keyboard... so he bought one off the AH for me. Paid a lot more than it goes for now, but it was nice to finish off the raptor collection. I really wanted this one because he's the only green raptor (go figure) and bigger than the rest.

Edit: this was back when you had to kill the Matriarch to get it.

When I first hit 75 pets, I pulled this guy out all the time... to show off my new 75 pet status. But once I hit 80, 90, 100+ pets, he lost his luster a bit. He's still cute, and I do like his leaping run animation, but I wish I had a pet I could pull out when another player tries to have a pet-off with me that said, "OK I have pet X! 'Nuf said!"

I'm thinking we won't get a 100 pet achievement. Too many mount collectors would complain. But here's to hoping the 125 or 150 pet is really cool!!

I'm so glad they made Stinker special, with fun animation. The two cats he chases are the black tabby and the bombay.

Why doesn't the fawn do something special though? He was supposed to be for 100 pets originally. And he doesn't get something cool? I still like the fawn, but Stinker is way more awesome.
