After reading the comments below, I stood at the flight master in Kirthaven and logged out, then back in. Repeat. On the 3rd try, there was one standing beside me.

You have to click on them FAST! 3 times in a row, as I was running up to the rat, a Daggercap Hawk came down from the sky and killed it! Three times in a row! Gah!

Found 5 in the Wildgrowth Mangle without waiting for respawns.

I believe its the random critter spawns that effect it showing up.

I tried all different hours of the day. Tried different weather. Tried camping for 6 hours..... nothing.

Read a post below about trying to kill other wild pets and making them show up. Killed a small frog (and pals). 60 seconds later a sporeling spawned in town. Killed a snake down the road. 60 seconds later a sporeling spawned in town.

Nothing from 4am-5:30 am. At 5:45am server time one spawned in the very very back corner of the wine cellar. (my pet that normally does 156 dmg, crit'd for 396 and killed it). So i panic ran to the other cellar just as 3 spawned in the very center of it (one on each of the 3 spiral levels).

Spent forever trying to find one, saw the post here about killing all the Thurdering Exiles to reset the timers, so I tried it. 2 min later they respawned and 2 tiny twisters spawned with them!
