Yay! Finally caught my first carp - a blue one - in a Crowded Redbelly Mandarin (fish of the day) pool near Niuzao Temple.  Took well over 700 casts. 

Now onwards for the other 3!

Just killed him. BF didn't get any loot on him. I got gold and a 15 VP book. No pet. :(

Update: Killed him at least 7 times and finally got it! There's a lot of bugs with the loot on these rares. Sometimes you get loot sometimes you don't, regardless if you have the tag. When you have no loot, or tried to loot and then it disappeared from the loot window (but not into your bags); if you drag another mob nearby and kill it, about half the time you'll get that missing loot via aoe looting.

This appears to be bugged now (Feb 17)? I just had mine kill a lofty libram pet with weakening blows. :( After I'd finally found an uncommon one!

Camped the area all day yesterday (8+ hrs). Only 4 hatchlings spawned- 2 uncommon (gold and jade) and 2 poor.  I did attempt clearing all the other pets and critters. One jade spawned shortly after first clearing, but several hours of it later no others had, so I think it was just a coincidence.

Logged in at same time today and there were dozens up! I got a rare crimson. Still just uncommon for the other 2 but I'm ok with that for now :) 

So don't give up! They are out there. =) 

Not sure if it's CRZ bugging it or if I'm just really unlucky compared to the other commenters. I've been here killing the protodrakes for over 2 hours now and have yet to see a single spawn. =/

 

LOL! Apparently I just needed to whine about it. Tabbed back in from writing this and one spawned right in front of me. A rare one to boot! :) 

Not sure if sandstorms are bugged or just incredibly rare. Sat in Tanaris for over 12 hours the last 2 days and haven't seen one. =( 

Got this day of the patch! :) Now to keep trying for the moth!

Just saw my first one just north of the Gao-Ran Battlefront in Townlong Steppes. So cute!

Hope I can find one again when I get my troupe of pets up high enough!

Yet another holiday disappointment. Doing the quest every day on each of my 8 toons....and I got it on 1 alt on the second last day. Of course not on my main pet collector. *sighs* I really wish they'd change this system. It's so frustrating! I really hope they do make pets account wide in the expansion.
