Just to let everyone know, they DO respawn after a while, got mine few days ago while leveling,it was about an hour into a sandstorm ( if you miss the wave at start of sandstorm, go do something else for 30min or so and come back) . and killing other critter/mobs won't make them spawn faster. hope this helps!
