after a few hours of farming the area outside utgarde keep and halgrind, i decided to give up and try my luck at finding a fjord worg pup. stopping briefly to battle a wild pet on the way, the first pet i engaged outside of those two areas previously mentioned was accompanied by a devouring maggot! it seems these only exist as secondary accomplices as far as tamables are concerned. coordinates: 45,50
