After weeks of looking and finding nothing (except other players hovering hopefully around the area) I finally decided to park my character right on one of the pits Monday night and then wait for the Tuesday server maintenance to be over.  Logged in as soon as my server was up, and even then I found myself in competition with seven other players who had the same idea. I still managed to snag one - uncommon. Glad this pet hunt is finally over.  Good luck to those still trying!

It finally dropped after 2 1/2 hours of running around the lake grinding Noxious Whelps.  In the meantime, I levelled from 40 to 41 and filled my bags with leather, and watched a good movie.  Nothing like a good movie -- or better yet, an audio book -- to relieve the tedium of grinding.
