Awwww.  Poor oozy baby.

I was having fits finding a Rare, and after battling enough wild pets to raise a L5 crocolisk to L25, still didn't have one.  I overflew Thundermar, which had a Poor hopping about with the other hatchlings, made another couple of loops hoping for a marmot at least, and came back ready to quit... when I noticed there was a second hatchling pet.  A Rare.  Serverstraza answered my pleas!

Most of the secondaries I found were poor; I managed to grab a green one with a Crimson Geode or Crimson Shale Hatchling, but nothing else until I got to the entrance of Therazane's Throne (54:14) after many battles, where there was an odd little collection of wild pets.  The Rare rat was L22 and of course went down to 20 on capture. P/B breed.  The Uncommon earlier was S/B, for what it's worth.

I'm on Wyrmrest Accord, and maybe it's either other hunters (that I don't see), timing or sheer bad luck, but the most I've found so far have been maybe two rezzed at the same time, both poor.  This thing dings my stats! :(

I found two Rares, one right after the other, near that marshy bit right before the Greymane Wall.  I don't know if the proximity of the crocolisks made them better survivors....

I upgraded my Yakrat tonight by happy surprise over near the Pandaren Fire Spirit.  I was picking random fights to level my newly-Rare Creepy Crate when this lovely blue H/S critter popped up.

After doing a pretty thorough round of the island my first time there, I was only able to find an Uncommon as my best.  They're pretty well scattered, and more often on drier land than the Electrified Razortooth, both in the ruins and in the woods.

I was fortunate enough to get a Rare in the appropriately blue skin after a good prowl of the island and quite a few fights - my first time there.  He may have been from the Violet Rise side of Diremoor, where that very large dino prowls, but otherwise there was nothing exceptional about the area in which I found him.

I had no problems finding these around the pools of Diremoor, but I did have problems finding better than an Uncommon.  I engaged several Greens, caught two, but they seem to be limited in breed.  Maybe next time.

Didn't get a single Battlestone the whole time I was on the island, either [/grump].

I didn't make note of exactly where I got my Rare (likely around Diremoor somewhere), but it was a secondary on a fight I'd engaged simply to see if I could get a battlestone to drop.  It's the green-dark indigo skinned python which I promptly named a translation of 'Jade Shadow' and levelled to 25.

I found a surprising number of Rares in the Crystalsong Forest -- possibly because they're nearly tripping the Blue Dragonkin wandering around waiting to kill you.  The more dangerous the location, the more likely the Rare, it seems.

I'm delighted to get the Mountain Panda on my very first round of the Legendary daily, along with (gasp!) a Flawless Battlestone.  I am hoping it will fund my mammoth.

It'd be great if people who find rares could ID where they were found; sometimes there's patterns, like they're in the most dangerous spot in a wild zone, or some particularly tricky area to get to in the city, things like that.  I keep finding rare dung beetles and uncommon lizards, but not my rare lizard yet in Org proper.

I just wasted an hour+ in the Vale using the server-reset-time theory.  There was a Dwarf or two waiting with me, but even 24 hours and 20 minutes after the Friday up time, there wasn't even commonspawn anywhere near the craters, so camping and competition weren't the problem.  I'm pretty disappointed.
