Too bad death grip and curse of doom are the same tier, CoD then grip another pet to the front and fight it while the other dies on the back row would have been sweet. As it is you can still DoT up a pet then grip another to the front while the DoT ticks.

This guy has soome of the best combos of any pet. Supercharge + call lightning = dead beast, + call blizzard = dead mech. Follow a call lightning with flurry = dead critter,  and does a lot of damage vs most everything else but flying and elemental, but you should never use a mech vs elemental, anyway.

People make this pet out to be harder to aquire than it should be. Make a gnome, run through the starting area to the right and then right again until you get to the Gnomeregan instance entrance. If you didn't see a fluxfire, logout, change server and repeat. Be mindful of CRZ, though, as you may roll a toon on a server that shares CRZ with one you were just on. Also, use the latin, brazil and oceanic servers, as you can make toons there as well, and I noticed they tended to be a little less populated in the starter.

If you don't yet have a pet with decoy, I suggest getting one. It is a godsend against some tamers. Beware though, moves like flurry and moth balls eat up its 2 charges with just one round, but big hits like whirlpool are a good choice to use this for.

A neat strat with this guy is save ion cannon for the last round as a execute type move, or use it when you know you are going to die as a suicide move to do massive damage, as the recharge will mean almost certain death anyway.

A whole lot of comments here, so I saved time from reading them all. These guys spawn at midnight 12am server AND around 7:30am server. I was there after the dailies reset one morning doing the trainer and there were none up. Then after the fight, I made a pass for arcane eyes and there were dozens underground. Just a little FYI. Also bring a 25 frog with tongue lash and 2 lowbies for some easy XP. Tongue lash is strong vs undead, and undead is weak vs aquatic. Happy hunting!

This guy's original curse of doom healed when it landed, making him one of the easiest pets to level, even vs critters with strong attacks vs it. I hated the nerf, though I am sure the heal was a bug.

Pair him with a Nordrassil wisp and spirit of summer to make a disembodied head team.

Having worked at Best Buy, I started a tradition/ obsession of buying all the CE's from Blizzard for the WoW pets that came with them. I don't/will never have the classic WoW CE pets, but I have all of the rest so far. This guy followed many toons throughout Northrend. 

I love dinosaurs, love skulls, and to a lesser extent, bones in general, so when I took up arch when it first came out I had no idea even how it worked short of being a huge pain in the beginning. Anyway, i was just plugging along in the beginning and completing puzzles as they came along, not even paying attention to what I was doing, and all of the sudden a bell dinged for like 2 or 3 achvs and I looked to see I had gotten a first rare find as well as the asst prof title. Big deal, until I checked my bags later while cleaning them out to find this little guy waitng patiently to be learned. I had no idea, but needless to say I was very happy!

One of the many pets to add for a bear threesome with robo-bear and darkshore cub. Another favorite of mine is the Chrominius, core hound pup, stitched pup combo,  and the fossil hatchling, cogblade, darting hatchling.

Cannibambi has consume corpse, creepy.

One of my favorite bird models, if memory serves, I got this model as a hunter pet as well, though my hunter is shelved at the moment. I actually wish they made a flying version of this guy as well as undead.

From a pet battle point of veiw this guy kinda sux. Beast moves strong vs critter, undead takes more damage from critter. Maybe good vs the handful of  humanoid wild pets. I wish this guy had a unique look to match the rest of the raid pets, even if it cloned the boss that dropped it.

As Lisanette stated, this is an excellent moth for aquatics that dive or headbutt, as the cocoon strike is a great counter for both. Plus, the added damage from getting a breed 4,14 means that lucky hits with moth dust ruin your opponent. I bought 34 with the little gold I had on my lone alliance toon, and got far more of the breed 12,22 and 3,13's than the 4,14's, with just 6 total breed 4,14 from the lot. I figured it might be worth it to lvl these, stone them and sell them.

You are saying that you beat him, but not with which pets you are using. Any help would be great for the rest of us.
