I'm having some kind of phasing issue. I fly over Felwood, and as I'm on the flight path, I see numerous Minfernals on my map. Then when I go there, I see none. I tested this on multiple toons, and had the same issue. Even on a level 60 paladin that never quested there.
However, I went on a level 60+ Deathknight, on an oceanic server. And there were 4 minfernals there. Nobody else in sight!
I previously found 2 commons, and went back to look for a rare. A few minutes of being in the zone, I found plenty. I managed to catch a rare. After catching it, the stats are as follows.
Level 16
HP 922
Attack 164
Speed 206
I found this pet very difficult to find on my main server. It's very over camped. However, on an oceanic server, there were many laid out for me.
I went through maybe 30 of these guys before finally finding a rare. Letting others catch lower qualities to be generous. I found that these would spawn in small groups. Typically 2 would spawn every 30 minutes or so. But sometimes they could spawn 2, then 5-10 minutes later another 2, then 5-10 minutes later 2 more. I would then get a long pause, not seeing any for a while.
I managed to pick one up on an oceanic server. I checked there regularly, and nobody was ever there.
Killing critters appears to make 2-6 spawn every 30 minutes or so. From my experience.
I went through maybe 10 of these, without finding a rare. But other people around me were getting those! Eventually, I got off, and woke up around 9 AM today. Logged on, and headed to Zangarmarsh. Absolutely nobody was here. Not one person, other than me. It may have been 8-9 AM server time. But when I arrived, there were a good 15 Sporelings, sitting there for my picking. Several rares, of course.

I made 200 casts at the docks, and no luck. I read about the under water cave, and figured I would give it a try. I got the Sea Pony within 30-50 casts. It may not have anything to do with it, but it couldn't hurt to fish here, instead of anywhere else, right?
