This boss is much easier now with 5.1. I got this pet today with the help of a couple friends, but I don't doubt it could be solo'd with the right combination of abilities. Shaman especially. Freezing him is easier then ever, I did it as a shadow priest using Mind Spike alone (shadowfrost dmg) and it was very quick. Melee hits must be used to shatter him once frozen, so if you're a caster, bring a duel weilding friend to help you out and give him a little stab.
