Can someone tell me if they spawn in the caves of the two locations? Or are they above ground?

Found a lvl 5 spider, and it had a larva behind it. So this method worked perfectly.

Today I found about SIX of these right after the server restart. 5 out of the 6 were Common, and one a Poor. I was so disappointed! I've been trying to track these guys all week.
