Re: Gloop

Took me about 250 casts to get this pet (with maxed out fishing). He's a beaut.

Took me approximately 450 kills to get this. Wowhead says that the drop rate is between 0,5% and 1% so I wasn't the luckiest, but at least I got the pet after 45 minutes of grinding.

Re: Lurky
As of 5.0.4. they ruined Lurky's cute little voice imho and replaced it with a more sharp sounding, monkey-like one. It's still my favourite pet though!

Grabbed it from the AH for 5k gold as well, on Doomhammer-EU horde side. Maybe I should've waited a bit longer, but I'd promised myself to go for it if it hit that price, and didn't float around at 10k+. If I was to buy the pet in the Blizzard store for 10 bucks, 5k would also be my pain threshold... hence this decision to buy!

I finally got this one tonight after what felt like a massive grind since the start of Cataclysm... It was the last Tol'vir item I needed (except for the alchemy dragon recipe that I couldn't use anyway). Now I just need a companion to play rock/papper/scissors with!

Between all the alts that I used to try to get this little guy, I must've killed 2000 of them at least. The best place was, like others have said, Badlands, since Dustwallow Marsh is more tricky, with Hatchlings that don't drop this guy, spawning in the same area as the Whelps.
I found that my mage with arcane spec was the best farmer of this pet because of the hard hitting instant spells and blink to get around to mobs quickly.

My advice for getting this pet has to be to use a lock alt to farm it, because I tried farming it on my main, with no pet in 250 or so kills. Yesterday I then decided that I might as well farm it with a char that would gain XP while farming and used my level 40 gnome lock alt. She got it on the 34th kill. She was on another server though, so before paying for server transfer AND faction change I wanted to have a go on my "main server". My 80 lock alt got it today after 74 kills... Damn I'm lucky

@ Mr337

From what I could tell, when I got it myself on my account, there isn't a pet-key for it. When you merge the Starcraft 2 game with the battle.net account, that also has your WoW account on it, it automatically appears in the mail box of all your WoW characters.

I must admit that I panicked a bit when I couldn't find the pet code, while I installed SC2!

I was beginning to think that I'd be the other end of the scale, to the people that go "oh 15 kills and it dropped!", again, but thankfully it dropped right on schedule so to speak, for a 1/1500 drop, at the 1490th kill. Man it was good!

I'm losing my will to live farming for this little guy... The addon I use to keep track of how many kills I've done that could drop it now says 3008, and I'm apparently in the 95th percentile of crappy luck when it comes to this one. 10 effective hours of farming hurts!
