The new option for specifying single-character versus multi-character collections now includes several validation routines. This ensures the validity of the collection when a user chooses the single-character option. Additionally, a new Top 50 Collections list has been added to commend the top 50 single-character collectors. The original Top 50 now includes only those collections spanning multiple characters.

Users are now able to specify whether they're collecting minipets on a single character versus multiple characters. This setting defaults to 'multiple characters', but can easily be changed. Click here to view this option.

Additionally, the Site User Index and list of Site MVPs have been updated to display this setting with either a + or a • next to the total number of pets in the user's collection. When sorting by 'Pets Collected', users who collect pets with a single character (•) are ranked higher than those who've collected the same number with multiple characters (+).

NEW PETS! It looks like the Phoenix Hatchling won't be the only new pet in 2.4. The next major content patch finally gives us crocolisk pets, and these guys are adorable. All of these have been confirmed to drop via items obtained by completing new daily fishing quests.

Chuck - a dark green baby crocolisk.

Muckbreath - a yellowish-brown baby crocolisk.

Snarly - a light green baby crocolisk.

Toothy - a yellowish-brown baby crocolisk.

The drop rate for each of these new pets is something of a mystery. Feel free to contact me if you can share any details about their drop rates.

The developers have replaced the played-time Adoration debuff with a real-time debuff. This change gives all of us collectors more options to farm for this elusive pet. As a result, I have completely reworked the Farming for Peddlefeet guide. If you're an altoholic like me, you're in for a treat!

NEW PET! Patch 2.4 has hit the test realms and it looks like there will be some new treats for pet collectors! First up, the Phoenix Hatchling, a stunning new pet! This companion drops from Kael'thas Sunstrider in the new 5-man instance Magister's Terrace on Sunwell Isle. The second item of note is a possible Vanity Pet Bag. While there are no specific details on this item yet (size, rarity, source, etc.), I expect that it will be able to hold 24-28 vanity pets, perhaps more. Still, no one has confirmed the existence of such a bag yet, so it may be more rumor than fact.

It's that time of year again... love is in the air! (or at least it will be beginning on February 11.) And that means it's also time for all of you serious minipet collectors to get ready to begin farming for Peddlefeet, the tiny goblin cupid pet that only drops during this 6-day event.

What was once a very rare pet is now one of the easiest pets to collect! Yes, the coveted Mojo is now easily obtained by doing a /kiss emote to an NPC outside of the Zul'Aman instance. Perhaps this was a hidden Easter egg all along, or this might possibly be a bug that's destined to be fixed in a future patch. So my advice to you serious collectors is to get this pet while the getting's good!

UPDATE: It appears as though the free and easy Mojos were, in fact, a bug. Furthermore, the bug has been hotfixed, restoring Mojo's rarity and uniqueness. Nethera, a WoW forum moderator, confirmed that everyone who received a Mojo as a result of this bug will be able to keep him. (That makes me very happy, but I weep for all of those who missed the boat.)

Tired of the same old pint-sized companions? Well, the new TCG expansion, Servants of the Betrayer, will contain "super common MMO loot cards", with an average of two such cards appearing in every box of boosters. The newest card of this type is Papa Hummel's Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuit. Feed one to your minipet and watch it grow to roughly the size of a hunter's pet! AWESOME!

But there's a downside: the loot is actually a consumable (likely obtained as a stack of 20). My hope is that you'll be able to visit Landro Longshot for a refill whenever you run out, but my guess is that once you use your stack, it's gone forever.

What's this? Clockwork Rocket Bots without rockets?! Sadly, it's true. Either an unintended bug (or an intended nerf) has rendered our little clockwork buddies rocketless. First their buffability was stripped (understandably so), but now they've become full-fledged pacifists. Yet, they still seem to target each other, giving us hope that this may be a bug. Blogger Maxbliss share's his view on these "Peacenik Bots."

As a result of a glitch in patch 2.3.2, the gift voucher that enables characters to obtain the original CE Pets (Panda Cub, Mini Diablo, and Zergling) was mailed out to all characters on CE accounts in-error. Players who receive this item are unable to complete the quest a second time, receive a second pet, or send it to another player. However, characters that are transferred to CE accounts ARE able to obtain these pets! Click here for details.

It's the same old story—you love minipets but you're always forgetting to summon and resummon them, right? Well, never again! Carra's MiniPet Addon will remind you to summon a minipet upon entering the game and after any activity that causes you to lose your minipet, such as hearthing or using a taxi. Click the flashing button to summon any companion on your character at random!

A few users have been caught reporting false collection data for the sole purpose of rising to the top of the Top 50 Collections list. I'd like to remind all users that this is considered inappropriate conduct, as it goes against the User Guidelines. Offending users will be dealt with accordingly.

Users are now able to share their collections with the rest of the community. The User Profile Index provides a complete alphabetical directory of every WarcraftPets user. Additionally, listings can be sorted by collection size and online activity.

A few visitors were abusing the old cookie-driven rating system. They manipulated their browser to bypass the one-vote-per-pet limit. The new account-driven system eliminates this problem. So going forward, I thought it was best to wipe the slate and start anew.
